PhD and technical assistant positions available - cancer targeting (CANTAR) - single-cell omics - apply until 30th of November 2022

Curious about actionability of epigenetic alterations in cancer? To address relationships, you will focus on the development and application of single-cell omics technologies. We highly encourage interested individuals from Ukraine to apply. Please contact robert.haensel-hertsch@uni-koeln.de

Fritz Thyssen Foundation supports our project on HGPS and mesenchymal stromal cell aging

We are delighted to receive generous funding by the Fritz Thyssen Foundation to support our endeavours on understanding epigenetic alterations and their interconnection to genome instability in mesenchymal stromal cells derived from human patients and mouse models of the Hutchinson-Gilford progeria…

New paper in Genome Research: Ultrashort cell-free DNA with G-quadruplex potential depleted in cancer patients

To our surprise, cancer patients are particularly depleted of ultrashort cell-free DNA (US cfDNA) with the potential to adopt G-quadruplex structures in nucleosome-depleted gene promoter elements.

We are now part of the second funding period of the Elise Kröner Forschungskolleg Cologne

The central scientific goal for the second funding period is to map and catalogue potentially actionable interactions between molecularly characterized individual cancer cells and their TME, with a particular focus on understanding anti-cancer immune responses

DNA structure in the spot light

Our recent observation suggests that G4 DNA secondary structure marks critical biology of breast cancer and is of diagnostic and therapeutic value.

We are now part of the lung cancer collaborative research centre
